Yesterday I went to the meeting in Ramallah for discussing the coalition
that we will be part of; it was a very fruitful meeting we have two levels
of work in the coalition where we do our work with the Swedish Olof palma
centre for the next three years. The second level is to coordinate our work
for the future when we can submit proposals for the 16 NGOs, who are part
of the coalition. I think it will be a great chance for us to have more
support through this relationship and we can do a lot of activities with
these NGO,s. I hope that all things will go as we wish.
I am sitting in my office at the moment the weather in Palestine especially
in Jenin is very hot and humid. its very hard to tolerate all that heat in
such a period of time in the year .
Two days ago the children came back from USA. They were so happy to be there
but they are more happy to be in Jenin. It is a great opportuinity for them
to see america and to be abroad for a while to have a little time far from
the situations in Jenin.
The man who was killed recently was called Osamah Al Toubasi was also
injured one month ago during his presence at the house in the camp, where
the family were receiving the people who came to give condolences for one of
the families killed at that time. Two Taxies came into the area and opened
fire on the people who were there. 4 people were killed and 15 injured at
the time. After the shooting, Osamah got treatment in Jordan but he died
there and they brought him from there to bury him in Jenin camp. He has one
child, a daughter and his wife was having another baby. When she heard about
his death, the baby died too.
I hope that this hard story will be the last one in Jenin.
